Our citronella candles act as a bug repellent for mosquitoes, flies, gnats, bees, wasps, ants, roaches, fleas, and ticks.

Our citronella candles are non-toxic and made with high quality ingredients, including vegan soy wax, phthalate-free essential oils and cotton braided wicks. Our citronella candles are eco-friendly which means they will not emit carcinogens or other harmful pollutants. Our ingredients are 100% biodegradable and safe for our environment!

Do not trim your wick before the first burn!

When you light your candle for the first time, it is important to leave it burning until the entire surface is liquid. The wax should burn all the way (or pretty close) to the sides of the jar. This will prevent tunneling (burning down the middle) in future burns. 

Keep your wick trimmed to approximately 1/4” before lighting EACH TIME!

Our 12 ounce citronella candle will burn for approximately 50 hours with proper care.

Yes! Carolina Naturals uses non-toxic ingredients that do not produce carcinogens or other pollutants! Just be sure that your pet does not ingest the candle or come in contact with the flame as this may harm them. If either occur, please contact your vet immediately.

Our warehouse is located in Lexington, South Carolina where each of our candles are handcrafted, packaged, and shipped to your door! We are proud to be a woman-owned, family-operated business.

There are two major factors that differentiate our mosquito repellent candle from others on the market, the first being our ingredients. Here at Carolina Naturals, we use:

–a highly air-permeating grade of citronella oil not found in the average citronella candle, formulated along with other non-toxic essential oils that are phthalate-free such as eucalyptus and lemongrass. Our candles are also DEET free.

–vegan soy wax: ethically and sustainably sourced from USA-grown soybeans, 100% vegan, no carcinogens, pollutants, toxins, or animal byproducts, completely biodegradable, animal-cruelty free, and eco-friendly for our environment.

–cotton braided wicks coated in soy wax; no lead or zinc.

What you’re likely getting in other store-bought candles include:

–paraffin wax: derived from petroleum; emits carcinogens and can cause life threatening health issues.

–palm wax: derived from palm trees in countries such as Indonesia; the demand for this wax has caused significant deforestation and has proved to be a threat to our environment.

–low quality oils: contain phthalates and other toxic chemicals.–wicks that contain metals and are coated in paraffin wax.

The second major factor that differentiates our mosquito repellent candle from others on the market is that it’s an artisan, American-made product. Many citronella candles on store shelves are outsourced to other countries in efforts of being cost-effective for the manufacturer. However, American-made goods are a more responsible and environmentally friendly option for consumers, from cleaner manufacturing practices to health and safety product regulations. Our vessels, wicks, and oils are sourced straight from USA suppliers, our wax is grown by USA farmers and every candle is hand poured right here in South Carolina.

Current production time is 1-3 business days from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated on our shop announcement (top of homepage). After your order is fulfilled, you will receive an e-mail with the shipping carrier name and tracking number. Typical transit times are 1-4 business days from the time your package leaves our facility in South Carolina.

We use both USPS and UPS as our mail carriers. Once you receive an e-mail with your carrier and tracking number, you can copy and paste your tracking number into the appropriate website to get more information about arrival time.

At this time, we only ship to the United States.

Yes! Our return window is 30 days from day of delivery. If applicable, refunds will be credited to same form of payment used. Item must be new and unused in order to return. Shipping fees can not be refunded. Customer is responsible for paying return shipping. Please give us 14-21 days to process returns and refunds. Please contact us at info@waxonfire.com to initiate a return.

Due to how quickly our packing process works, we are unable to issue cancellations. Once you receive your order, if you are unsatisfied with your shipment you can reference our return policy for how to initiate a refund.

If your product arrives damaged, please send us a photo of the damaged item(s) to info@waxonfire.com and we will get a replacement out to you ASAP!

If you received the wrong item(s), please send us a photo of what you received to info@waxonfire.com and we will get a replacement out to you ASAP!

If an item(s) is missing from your shipment, please contact us at info@waxonfire.com and we will review our CCTV footage to determine liability (Carolina Naturals or postal carrier) and give you further instruction.
